What A Difference A Day (or two) Makes....

One of the many things I love about summer is having a garden. Not only is it enjoyable for me, but great for my children!!! This year because of the wet weather we ended up planting much later that usual. Everything grew so fast!! We don't have a huge garden by any means, but enough to keep us busy. Tomatoes, corn, okra, beans, onions, beets, cucumbers, squash, and this year I planted 4 blueberry bushes!!!!!(we are very excited about those) We also have a small strawberry patch, grape vine, blackberry bush, and 3 apple trees, sooo- my kids can go out hungry and come back in full!!! :-)

Planting on a very windy day!! The Greenhouse gave me several bags of onions, so Kelsey and Kaden got to plant those as thick as they wanted- I think everyone of them came up. :-)

Trying to finish up before it gets dark.

Now, only a few weeks later...the plants are up and thriving!!!

Yum - I can taste the goodness of the garden already! That is one thing I really miss - real garden food!

Just beautiful...I'm green with envy! When we moved here to our bigger house, that's one sacrifice we had to make....we used to have room for a garden. Our whole family enjoyed it so much....and nothing beats fresh vegetables. It's so good for the kids too to get to plant their own things. maybe someday again........sigh Enjoy it for us :)

It looks/sounds great. Can't wait until I am in the position to have one.
I loved helping my mom tend to our family one.

You are amazing! Your garden looks great. I would love to have one but have no place for one. My Dad grows a pretty big one and sells some of it on a road side stand. He just recently planted around 500 plants and that isn't the end I'm sure. He was hoping I'd come home to help! I just wish I was close enough to help enjoy all the yummy fruits and veggies. It's funny how when you are a kid you don't think that it's all that great. One year we picked around 450 quart of black raspberries off his patch. That was a lot of picking to be sure. I kind of miss it now. Of course that is easy to say since I live to far away to help:-)

Jana, your garden looks great....and what a good experience for your kids to get to help with it too. We'd like to have a garden some day...

I hope you are having a good day.
I was sorry to read of your sister Brenda being sick and in the hospital. HOW SAD! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog.
Love, Heather =)

I'm jealous...I always say I want a garden, but I'm never home long enough to actually see it happen!
Next year we may do a huge one on the church property (two or three families or more) since we have 8 acres there. Yours looks great, though. You should be proud of yourself!

Wow, your garden is beautiful. We have a huge garden as well, but I will never post pic of it. LOL! It doesn't look anything like yours. With me just having our 3rd baby I didn't do a thing but watch Aaron plant the garden and he's been trying to take care of it. But with the way he's been so busy, the weeds are taking OVER.AHHH! LOL. I really enjoy your blog.
