Our Trip To The Zoo!!

Tuesday Kelsey, Kaden, and I hooked up with some friends and headed off to the Springfield Zoo.

I still feel bad about doing some things without Khara being able to go along. While we were planning this trip Khara brought home a field trip permission slip. Her first grade class is going to the Springfield Zoo next Thursday-YEAH!!!!

After the zoo, we headed to a pizza restaurant. We only had one spilled drink, and one toddler who would not stay seated. Pretty good ratio, considering our numbers! :-) It is always so much fun for the moms to be together and I know the kids Loved it!!

Kaden wasn't real thrilled about the goat eating out of his hand. He preferred to throw the food at them.

This little monkey was pleased to have an audience and came right up to the window.

Round 2 or was it 3, or 4, of "musical chairs" with the strollers. I guess that is to be expected when your group includes an 18 month old, 22 month old, 25 month old, 28 month old, and 4 year old. Kelsey enjoyed every minute of mothering to the "little ones" she could get in that day.

Another Fishing Trip

Crappie, Bass, Bluegill...

Our family loves to fish!!

A guy that Mark works with invited him to go fishing this evening after work. A third co-worker from U.P.S. joined them and they had a very successful trip. Mark said they threw back more than they kept and then divided the ones they did keep between them.

This may gross some of you out, but my kids love to touch the eyeballs on the fish...where they get that??? Maybe they will be biologist, vets, opthamologists,... Needless to say, as soon as they came in they went straight to the bathtub!!!

Saturdays with the Burley Bunch

A couple of Saturdays ago enjoying a visit to a family favorite--Bass Pro

Unable to get Kaden to take his eyes off of the displays even for a few secs. for a pic.

This past Saturday, putting what we learned and saw at Bass Pro into practice--Family Fishing.
Kaden is thrilled to have his own pole even though it has no line, etc. :-)

Kelsey with a nice crappie!!

Per Kelsey's request...

Last week our church was privileged to host A.W.C. Choir. What a wonderful group of students!! Khara, Kelsey, and Kaden really enjoyed all of the attention and "privileges" they received. They made a big impression on our kids. I'm so thankful anytime we have the chance to be around great groups like that.

Kelsey with her friend Mary before they left Thursday morning. (Kelsey, a little sad to see them leave.)

Kids In The News

My kids made the paper, and the front page to beat!! :-)

Our M.O.P.S. group met last week. Due to it being Spring Break, we had a meeting for school aged kids as well. Super turn out and a great "Safety Party". I hosted the "snack-craft" table. We made edible fire trucks out of graham crackers with red frosting, oreo wheels, a licorice ladder, etc. They turned out very cute. Wish I would have taken my camera...glad someone did.

Check Out Those Roots !!!

Okay, here goes...I am humbling myself in order to fulfill your curiosity. I am posting pictures of my face- 6 days post surgery and my; well, they use to be mine, teeth. This is a picture of my face that I took tonight. I didn't think it was bruised that much anymore but Khara said "Oh yes, it still is!!". I really wish I would have taken pictures on Friday and Saturday when I was extremely swollen. At the time I didn't think I would ever want any memories of the "EVENT".

It's times like these that you're glad you have a respectable life and marriage. I've had many "nosy" (okay, curious) :-) people ask "Did Mark....." full knowing he would never but just dying to really know what happen (which really is totally fine). It was also funny to go to the store and watch people try to take a second glance without being obvious. :- )

I had one older lady at church tell me Sunday night "I don't know where you went(to have your surgery) but it was the WRONG place". If you have been to our church very often at all you know exactly who I am talking about. Gotta love her... Some people really have a way with words. :-)

In closing- To those of you who really wanted to see by teeth and bruises-THANKS--I'm happy to share!

The remains of my wisdom-

These are absolutely terrible pics of me but, they will help you to get "the picture" ha, ha, ha, ha

From the Desk of the Bruised and Battered...

I survived surgery, though it was quite an experience!! I now sport a beautiful yellow and green face and my teeth are still letting me know they endured some extreme "battering". I did have them save my three teeth and considered posting a picture. I think they are extremely interesting to see, but since I wasn't sure if you would feel the same.....:-)

We have started another very busy week: baby shower tonight, M.O.P.S. steering meeting tomorrow, and then on Wed. eve. we are having the Allegheny Wesleyan College Choir at our church. We are feeding them a snack before the service, meal after, and breakfast the next morn. Another lady in the church and myself are trying to get this together. She has called me already 8 times today, that alone may keep me Very busy. :-)

Have a wonderful week!!

**Doom's Day**

Okay, hopefully that is too strong of a title...I will find out tomorrow. Tomorrow at approx. 12:15 I will be going under the knife!! I am having all three of my wisdom teeth removed. I know, I know, thousands of people have it done but it is a first for me , obviously, ha ha :-). This will be my first time to have teeth pulled or be "put-under" so I am, shall I say, a little anxious??. The almanac sign is in the knees so that is definitely a plus. (Right, Aaron H. ??:-))

Since I will not be blogging until I return home from surgery,(and then I will do it while sucking on a Popsicle and holding bags of frozen peas on my face), I welcome all of your experiences, good or bad. I've heard/read some pretty interesting ones. My mom thought I should probably stop researching it quite so much on the Internet. :-)

I'm off to get one more Big drink of water before I start my 12 hour fast. Hope YOU have a great Wednesday!!

My Day of Deals

I just Love auctions!! Today we went to a great one!! A daycare in ElDo was closing and selling all of their supplies. They had more toys, books, craft supplies, and outdoor toys, than I had ever seen at one sale. The crowd was small, so it was a good day for the buyer. :-) We came away with some really good deals.

Some of the more than 150 books that I bought. My plan is to swap out most of the books on Khara and Kelsey's book shelves Monday with the ones purchased today.

My DEAL OF THE DAY---37 book/tape sets for the whopping price of $7.00.

A familiar sight at our house this evening. :-)

Kelsey's Program

Hey, I'm Posting!!! It's been another busy week. Aren't they all??

Once the card on our digital camera is nearing capacity Mark will upload them for us. We had not ordered any of our pictures since the end of last May. We found out that the lab where we have them printed is closing in April so we had to order them all or they would be lost ...(my fear!!). Tuesday we placed the order-399 pictures!!! I couldn't believe it. That did include a kindergarten graduation, 3 summer b-days, all the holidays.... It seems that I may be a little "trigger happy". ANYWAY, all that said to say this,...with all of those pictures coming tomorrow, you may be in for LOTS of posts. :-)

Kelsey had her Patriotic Program tonight at the El Dorado Christian School where she goes to preschool. It is always so entertaining to watch 3, 4, and 5 year olds perform. They really did a fantastic job!!!

Ready to perform.

Kelsey and one of her best friends, Brooke Larson.

Why I LOVE Being a Mother

Khara loves to write! Last night I found these notes behind the pillows on our bed. What a sweetheart!! Makes you want to try even a little bit harder to be the very best mother that God can help you to be.
