The Results of Staying Home on a Saturday!!!

two loaves of bread, two cracker pies, chocolate peanut butter bars...yum, yum, yum

This past Saturday during the day we...stayed home!!! Seems like our Saturdays are normally so busy. Mark had really hoped for us to all go out in the boat for the first time of the season , but when the day looked cloudy and stormy that was quickly postponed. I had a chance to get a jump start on my "Monday work" and do some much loved baking. We had a church dinner the next day which is where the bread and pies went.

Later that day we traveled about 40 miles to Ft. Scott and heard the G.B.S. Band--very good. What a great way to spend a Saturday!!!

*Yes, I did manage to do this with three children around...they all took a nap on Sat. afternoon--at the same time!!! A wonderful thing at our house. :-)

I could go for a cracker pie about now. It seems like these days that so many things sound good until they are put in front of me, and I can't eat as much as I want to. When this baby gets out, I can enjoy my sweets again!

Yum! All of this looks so good!

I meant to call and see if you went to hear the band.

Wow! You are amazing. I only have 1 child and sometimes I feel like I don't get anything done. Does it help to have more? Are the older ones good babysitters? Does it help that they are girls? I used to think that I was a 4 kid mom, now I think 1 sounds really good!

Hey Dorcas-
Great to hear from you!! I love having 3 children and actually told Mark the other night that if he made at least $300,000.00/year, I wouldn't mind having 8. :-)!!! The money so that we could have a full time maid, 6-8 bedroom home,... No, really it does help to have older ones to entertain the younger. I also did mention they all took a nap--at the same time!!!:-)

Hey girl, all your baking looks fun and is familiar since I LOVE To bake too! I'm curious, what is a "cracker pie"?
Thanks for signing my blog. God just gave me a mixer to help with my 100 cookies that I make weekly to pass at a church. YEA! (pic on blog). CUTE BLOG PICS!
Love y'all,
Heather

Yum!! I'm lucky to get cookies that you just "add a stick of butter" made. (And both my boys still take naps!)

Bottle up whatever it is you're taking and send me some!!! "Domesticity in a bottle" only $29.95 + tax!
